My Goals
As the school year approaches one of the many questions people ask you is what your goals are for the year. For me, as I enter my junior year of high school, the main thing I'm hoping is just to pass for the year. A lot of people say junior year will be the hardest year out of all four, and I'm less than a day away from finding out if that statement is true. My highest goal is to finish this year with completely A grades in all of the quarters. Grades this year are just as important, if not more important, than any other year. This is especially true if you are applying for college. Graduating college is one of my long term goals. To play off of this a short term goal for this year is to narrow down my college search for the colleges I want to apply to.
Outside of school the thing I want to do most is learn from every experience. Yes school is important, but there is more to life than your education. I would like to learn how to get better at softball and be a constant varsity starter. I would like to learn new things that would expand what my cheer squads are able to accomplish. I would like to learn new skills and push myself to improve my gymnastics. I'd like to learn how to help others more in life and not just myself. I'd like to learn how to go above myself.
I'd also like to learn to start really experiencing life and just soak in the two years I have left of my childhood. All of my classmates, along with myself, are quickly approaching graduation. We will all be adults it the blink of an eye. Of course responsibility is an important thing to learn now, but we also need to remember to slow down and enjoy our time in high school. I'd like to make new friends that I can carry with me through the rest of high school; I would also be content with the few people I already have in my life because I know they'll be there for me. And last, but definitely not least I'd like to be able to relax a little more this school year and know it's okay not to be perfect. In previous years I've put too much pressure on myself to be perfect and it has only caused me to be more stressed than what is necessary. I'd like to figure out how to be balanced and happy this year.
Only hours from now I start my junior year of high school and I can't wait to see where that takes me.
