Universal Orlando Theme Parks Part 1

So now that I have written about Disney, it is time to introduce you guys to Universal Orlando. I'm going to include Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure. Universal's Volcano Bay will be the subject of a later post. I'm going to start with Islands of Adventure. Islands of Adventure is probably the more action-packed side of Universal. as you enter you can take either a left or a right. I'm going to take you a left. This takes you to Marvel Superhero Island. The first ride as you enter is the Hulk roller coaster. The Hulk is easily the most intense ride in either of the parks. Its line also goes relatively fast so it's a good first choice. Every time I go I make sure to ride this multiple time. Also in this island is Doctor Doom's Fearfall and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. Doctor Doom's Fearfall is a set of drop towers that take you up fast and drop you just as fast. It is a quick thrill that also takes you up high enough to see a lot of the parks (depending on what side you sit.) In The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man you ride in a vehicle that seats 12. In your vehicle you go through an adventure with Spider-Man on several screens that are very realistic. the next island is Toon Lagoon. Located in Toon Lagoon is Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges and Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. Both of these rides are water rides based on cartoons. Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges is a raft ride that goes through a storyline from Popeye and grantees you will get absolutely soaked. Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls is a classic log ride that follows the story of a ranger named Dudley and whether you'll get soaked or barely wet is up to the ride. Next we move onto Skull Island: Reign of Kong. This ride is generally new and actually kind of off on its own. The ride takes you on a trip through Skull Island in a safari vehicle; but will you make it past the all powerful Kong? The next place on the path is Jurassic Park. Featured here is Jurassic Park River Adventure and Camp Jurassic. The river ride is a boat ride that takes you through the world of dinosaurs with a scary twist. You probably wont get soaked, but that's never a definite so prepare accordingly. Camp Jurassic isn't a ride, but I figured I'd include it because it is a fun play space for kids and actually has a ride inside. Next is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Here you'll find Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey inside of Hogwarts Castle. If you are a Harry Potter fan this is the place to be. Beside the castle is the Flight of the Hippogriff, which is a small roller coaster aimed for kids to enjoy. You can also walk through Hogsmeade and visit the shops; and if you have a park-to-park pass you can even ride the Hogwarts Express over to Diagon Alley located in Universal Studios. There used to be a roller coaster attraction also, called The Dragon Challenge, but it is being replaced by a new Harry Potter themed ride to come around 2019. Finally the last place is Seuss Land, which is a Dr. Seuss themed land for younger kids. If you have young children it is worth the stop. I'll be back with a summary of Universal Studios soon.
