Disney's Animal Kindom Orlando


     Since i already did a blog on Walt Disney World I thought it'd be cool to give you guys a look into another Disney park: Disney's Animal Kingdom. I went back to Animal Kingdom this year for the first time in a few years. Animal Kingdom will always have a special place in my heart. Growing up I loved animals and I still do. As the name would suggest, Animal Kingdom has several animal exhibits. the park is divided into different lands name for different continents. Each land  has different attractions and animal exhibits specific to their continent. The Kilimanjaro Safaris in Africa are really cool. Guests get to ride in a safari truck and see and learn about different animals. Something else in Africa that I highly recommend is the Lion King show. You may show up and see how crazy the line is but my recommendation is to wait until after they start letting people in to try to enter. The odds are they’ll still have room inside and you can walk right in. The show is perfect for guests young and old with everything from singing to acrobatics. It is one of my personal favorites. Next on my list is Expedition Everest locates in Asia. Expedition Everest is a thrill coaster that goes forwards and backwards through the mountain trying to find the legendary yeti. My last trip I rode this several times in a row because I rode alone and was able to move quickly through the single rider line. The newest land of Animal Kingdom is Pandora. I personally have never seen the movies; however, I did get the chance to ride the new Navi River Journey ride. Even without knowing the story I was amazed by the detail and beauty of this ride. I didn’t get to ride the other new ride, but if you get the chance you should because Disney doesn’t usually disappoint. The land of Pandora itself was very impressive; especially the floating mountains. In the main part of Animal Kingdom they have the Tree of Life. Even if you don’t ride the It’s Tough to be a Bug ride inside it is worth a stop and probably a couple pictures. The tree is also featured in the new night experience at Animal Kingdom. The tree is lit up in bright colors and there is a new evening show as well. The show (even though it malfunctioned while I was there) was absolutely incredible. They use water and lights to tell the story of how land and water come together. The show was definitely worth waiting for. That is all on Animal Kingdom for now, but as always I recommend it.

NHS Induction Ceremony

     Tonight was my school’s induction ceremony for NHS. Twenty-three of us got accepted. For one night we got to be honored in front of our friends and families. I got to walk up on stage and accept my certificate with twenty-two of my classmates. It was nice to get acknowledged for our hard work. Also this will help us all with college which is awesome. I’m excited to keep moving.

Walkout Day!

     Today is National School Walkout Day! Students across the country  walked out of their classes at 10:00 A.M. to protest in whatever way they chose. I, as well as two other students, organized and planned our schools walkout. We got the permission of our school administrators to assure that no students that wanted to participate would get in trouble for leaving class. This also allowed us to have teachers and a couple of police officers watch over the protest. Our walkout met in the school’s auditorium. For our demonstration we created a slideshow of all 17 victims of the Parkland school shooting; giving one minute for each student.  I was honestly amazed that so many students participated and stayed quiet and respectful for all 17 minutes of the presentation. Many of today’s protests were focused on gun control, but that was not our goal. Our goal was to honor the victims of Parkland and to bring attention to the safety of our schools. Fishing

      I’ve liked fishing since I was a little girl. I’ve always had a lot of fun going out with my family and spending time at the lake. However, my family stopped going when I was still young. I still like to fish, but I didn’t really have anyone to take me. Today my boyfriend bought me a fishing license and took me fishing with his family. I had a lot of fun. Fishing is one of his favorite things so it was nice to be able to go with him. I’m hoping that since he got me a license we will be able to go more often over the summer. I think it’ll be a good chance for us to do something together that he really enjoys.
